We got one final look at the Iguassu Falls from the hotel – I am sure there is more water than when we arrived!
Efficient pick up by our tour guide, and we set off to the airport which is on the Argentinian side of the falls. An interesting quirk is that we cross over the border mid -river, and the bridge sides are painted in yellow and green on the Brazil side, and white and blue on the Argentinian side. The car was moving fast and I didn’t quite get the 2 countries together, just Argentina!
A few more stamps in the passport, and we arrived at the airport. The plane was an AeroLineas Argentinas Boeing 737-800. It has 8 Club seats and 162 economy.
We booked the Club seats as this gave us additional luggage allowance of 30kgs each rather than the 15kg that Economy are rationed. In addition, the ground staff are particular about the weight of hand baggage, limited to 5 kgs / 10 kgs.
The club seats were very nice; large, grey leather which were very comfortable with lots of leg room and 2 abreast, with a proper partition separating the cabin from the economy section. We even took off 5 minutes early!
We were served a light snack and drinks.
Arrived in sunny Buenos Aires met by our driver and deposited at the Sofitel after a slow trip, even though there are 12 lane highways! We have a nice Junior Suite, but felt reception staff could have been more welcoming.
