An email popped into my inbox over the weekend from the IHG Reward Club that seems to have caused a bit of a stir in the blogosphere. Headforpoints labelled it “weird” and InsideFlyerUK called it “puzzling“.
I don’t see what all the fuss is about! The email says this:
So, they are not going to give benefits on stays booked via a third party. So what?! It is not unreasonable. You get their best rate when you book direct anyway, and it is fair enough given that you are getting a lot back in terms of rewards.
This won’t change the way I book anyway, but I don’t see it as a big deal.
