The last Accelerate promotion from IHG has not even come to an end, and yet there is a new one out covering stays from September through to the end of the year.

I have done pretty will with the current one, being able to fulfil all the criteria with planned stays, so have not needed to do a mattress run. I am just waiting for one more to post, and then I will get the bonus points. A further weekend stay at the end of the month will be the icing on the cake for a clean sweep.

The new promotion looks less of a whitewash for me. My targets, worth a total of 61,900 points between 6th September and 15th December, are:

1) Stay once and earn 3,000 bonus points.
2) Get closer to the rewards you want when you stay 5 night(s) and earn 10,000 bonus points.
3) Book 3 stay(s) with the IHG® App and earn 5,300 bonus points.
4) Stay 2 weekend(s), including a Saturday night and another night, and earn 9,600 bonus points.
5) Stay 2 time(s) using your corporate rate and earn 2,500 bonus points.
6) Stay in any country in North America, South America, Central America, the Caribbean, Greater China (China Mainland, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan) , Asia Pacific, the Middle East and Africa and earn 8,000 bonus points.
7) Stay once in September and get 5,000 bonus points.
8) Complete 5 of the 6 offers and earn (an additional) 18,000 bonus points.
9) Register for Accelerate and earn 500 bonus points.

I could earn all these points with just 3 stays:

2 weekend nights in September in one of the countries specified booked on the app using a corporate rate (which should track for targets 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7)
2 weekend nights booked on the app using a corporate rate (2, 3, 4)
1 night booked with the app (2, 3)

Assuming they all tracked ok then I would also get the additional 18,000 bonus points.

However, this is very unlikely to happen for me. I have no travel booked for and of the countries listed, so I would need to meet all the other targets for the bonus, and seeing as I don’t have a corporate rate, I am a bit scuppered. Not to worry, I should have earned 500 points for registering!
