End of the runway for MyFlights App

It is a bit of a sad time in the aviation industry at the moment, with so many stories of businesses shutting down or getting into trouble. Yesterday I wrote about powdair, and today it is MyFlights.

I first wrote about the MyFlights app back in 2015 as one of the first articles on this site. It was a fantastic free app which actively monitored all your bookings for changes. This was great to stay ahead of the game when an aircraft swap kicked you out of an exit row – not an uncommon occurrence on the BA shortfall network.

The app collected all your flights and gave access to important information such as flight number, booking reference and aircraft type in a very easy format.

Sadly, an email from the developer, Chris, yesterday explained some of the issues:

It seems that there is little chance that anything is going to change. I am gutted as it is a really great app and I don’t know what I am going to use to keep all of my information in one easily accessible place. I guess we can only hope that something happens that means Chris and his app can take off again!
