Following a good flight down and after a leisurely breakfast we headed to the tube and Heathrow Express for our flight to Phoenix, leaving from Terminal 3. We used the terminal a few years ago when flying Cathay Pacific, and used their lounge, but I only have a vague memory of it!
This time, following lounge reviews on Head for Points, we decided to have a few hours in the newly refurbished Cathay Pacific lounge and a few in the BA lounge. As OneWorld partners, BAEC passengers can use either lounge.
The Cathay lounge was cool and calm with comfy seats and a good view of apron.
It was clean and a very pleasant change from the rather tatty and crowded BA Galleries lounges in T5 that we frequently use.
The Cathay lounge is to be recommended – it has a nice bar.
One of the highlights is the noodle bar where the food is cooked to order.
After a few very pleasant hours , we headed over to the BA Galleries lounge.
Well! What can I say?! Packed, not a seat to be had, hot, busy, with loads of passengers milling around. Ugh!
So, we headed straight back to the Cathay lounge, where the very pleasant reception ladies welcomed us back. The lounge was empty!
So, many thanks to HeadforPoints lounge reviews and for pointing out that Oneworld airlines can share facilities. It is in the BAEC blurb, but I suspect not many are fully aware they can use lounges other than BA. We were soon onto our flight and landed in Phoenix before we knew it!
